The Sticking Kind

Last Friday, brother Enos and I were in Oshawa with Dad for the Remembrance Day service. It was a cool day made worse by the wind and occasional drops of rain. But, while it was spitting in Oshawa, the kids, in their Peterborough classrooms, were watching little white flakes descend from the sky. Despite the visions of toboggans and sleds dancing through their heads, the snow didn't stick and winter disappeared as quickly as it came.

Yesterday was a different story. The snow came and it stuck. Not a lot but enough to resurrect those visions just a little longer. The high expected for today is 4 so the snow won't be around for long. Soon enough, though. Soon enough.

First snow of the year that stuck.

I spent Remembrance Day in Texas.

Where it was sunny and in the high 70s.

But I'm sure you don't want to hear that ;)

Keep the photos coming! I've never experienced snow in my life, would love a White Xmas. Weather report from here: HOT, humid, sweaty ... and it's not even Summer yet!

Spitting rain. Haha! I LOVE IT!

People in other areas call it "Drizzling".

That's the Shwa for ya.

We had a similar experience here. On Friday it came down quite heavy and I was surprised to see it still lingering the following day. Cleared up now but it seems we're on our way.

Oh man! Snow. And I just know it won't be long before it gets here too. Ah well, it does have its charms. It is nicer than the fog we've been having for over a week now. Cccccold!

Fiona - I've spent one Christmas in my life where it wasn't cold and there was no chance of snow. Bondi Beach on our honeymoon. My Mum had always dreamed of going to Australia and said that Aussies ate turkey on the beach on Christmas. So, we picked up a turkey sandwich at a deli nearby and had turkey on the beach.

Cheryl - hee hee. I know; it's nothing like what you guys have.

Dorito - ya, we fine folk from the 'Shwa are a culture unto ourselves. (We rock)

Marguerite - somehow winter just keeps on finding us.

Carolina - I don't mind snow...right up 'til about February then it can, well, you know.
