We were up and out the door quickly this morning as we wanted to arrive at the Woodville Sale Barn early. Once there, we wandered around for a bit, asked directions, signed in and waited. The boys hung out at one of the cages and were enthralled with the 'giant mice' that lived there. Turns out they were chinchilla. Awfully cute. (Do people actually use their fur anymore?) Soon, the auctioneer started with the cute little bunnies, then on to some type of budgie or something, birds and finally the laying hens trout. The first few went for a sum that one person figured was worthy of golden eggs. Off they went and it began again. On the third go-round Paul was the high bidder and we finally had the last piece of the puzzle - inhabitants for the chicken trout coop.
Phanny and the first egg
(brilliantly named for Dion Phaneuf; who'd be thrilled, I'm sure)
With a helping hand from our good friend, Dave, next door,
my birthday present is taking shape. Can you guess?
(I'm so excited!)
