Say Cheese and Happy Birthday

Ri likes taking pictures...of herself. The computer and her Facebook are loaded with self-portraits, usually posed with some goofy look on her face while giving the peace sign. Last week, Enos came by with Willie and Kokanee and Riley laid down on the floor and snapped this shot with the Koko-Puff. Aww, it's the Puff.

Today we celebrate the birth of our first taurus. This one, with a thing for cameras.

Happy 11th birthday, Ri!!!

Eight

Dear God. Cameron here. For my birthday, I'd really like it if the Montréal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup. My Dad says they will never beat the Boston Bruins. My Mum says it would kill my Dad if they did. He's already upset that I'm cheering for the Habs but how can I not cheer for a team that has a guy named Cammy on it? I mean, Mike Cammalleri is awesome. And so is Halak. Did you see all those shots he stopped against Washington? Well, God, that's it.

Sincerely, your friend, Cammy (the 8 year old one)

Happy 8th birthday Cammy!!!

Parties and Roadtrips

The boys' had their birthday party on Friday. We tried a combined one this year as they both wanted to go to Play Street and neither wanted to invite all that many kids. I think, total, including mine, there were eleven kids. Oh, wait, brother Enos would make it twelve. He did seem to be having a pretty darn good time.

Today, Dorito came up...and it was really freaking early for a Saturday. She informed me that she even went out and did her grocery shopping before she headed out. She was at our place about 8:30. The woman needs help. After a coffee (that I so desperately needed), we loaded up the boys and went up to Enos' place. There, we gave Kokanee and Willie big pets and scratches behind the ears. (Kokanee's been living with Enos since shortly after Waylon died. Kokie and Willie are brother and sister and are good company for each other so we figured this was best.) Next we took the backroads into Lindsay where we found a little restaurant for breakfast. Or, if you're Nolan, fries. Breakfast of champions, I'm sure. Then, with bellies full, we continued westward to check out the Kawartha auction barn in Woodville. As we drove, the sky became darker and the clouds opened up. It rained pretty good. Once there, we checked out the poultry and rabbits and then wandered to the sale
ring where they were auctioning off sheep. By the time we left we were pretty wet. It was kind of fun, though.

Five Years Old Today

Last night after I tucked my boys in, I told Nolan that this was the last time I'd get to kiss my four-year old good night. And this morning I get to holler to him "Good morning five year old!" for the first time ever. He liked the sounds of that...a lot. It was a big day at daycare yesterday too. Nolan's now old enough to play on the game cube. (I just pretend to know what that is.) He was pretty stoked talking about it at dinner.

Altogether now...

Happy 5th Birthday, Nolan!!!

More Bull? But I'm Tired

My three darling bulls have now all celebrated their birthdays. I'm exhausted and have decided that's enough. So we're just going to skip the last one...no harm, no foul. What's that? Nobody gets off that easy? Drat. Well, I guess we might as well get on with it then.

Hmm. Kinda hard to come up with something to write about the last of the backward bulls. So, I'll let you do it. Be nice, now. Alright, here we go...

T minus 1....I better get to bed...

A Month of Bull - Part III

Phew! We get a bit of a break now before the next cake. Strike that - our next celebrator prefers pie. Ri's about to hit double-digits, the big one-oh. She's outgoing, a comedian, hates math, and, according to some of the boys at school, the least annoying of the girls to be seated with. A ringing endorsement if ever there was one. Lover of water, Tyro (her bear), the Calgary Flames (okay, deep down she could care less, but I'll take what I can get), her bike, and hanging out with her friends. The best birthday present a Mum could wish for. My girl. Riley.

Back up the clock. T minus 11 days and counting...

Bowling with His Buddies

We spent a couple of hours this afternoon in Millbrook. You know, at that cute little six lane bowling alley I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. There were two parties there - the princesses had the westerly three lanes, and we, with the batman party, had the easterly three lanes. And that made it a full house. The owner had to leave for a bit to head down to the Legion to vote, but she assured me she'd be back with the pizzas by the time we were done our game. Her friend took care of the shoes for us. You just don't get that kind of story in the city. :-)

Cammy's friends, Ben and Aaron from school, and his buddy Zach were there along with his cousins Bryce, Jakey-Jake, and their older brothers Mitchell and Kyle. Aaron's little brother, Mitchell, who will be starting school with Nolan in the fall also joined in. And can't forget Uncle Gooey who was the winner in his group - although just barely, I'm told. Little three-year old Mitchell won in the second group. Never did hear the results from the third group.

As our games ended, our pizzas arrived as promised. The kids dug into them and then we enjoyed the batman cake. Finally, Cameron opened some gifts from his friends. Everyone had a good time.

Nolan has asked if he can have his fifth birthday at the bowling alley next year.

Seven

Is it May 3rd? It is? Well then, it must be my brown-eyed boy's birthday!

Happy 7th Birthday, Cameron!!!

A Month of Bull - Part II

Alrighty. Up next - Cammy. The most stubborn of the backward bulls. (Oh, don't listen to Paul). Shy. Takes after his Uncle Gooey who calls him 'mini-me'. He's been around these parts for just about seven years. Shares his day with my Mum, another stubborn one. Lover of Pokemon cards, his green pockey, the Boston Bruins (where have I gone wrong?), and jelly sandwiches. My brown-eyed boy. Cameron.

Reset the clock. T minus 5 days and counting...

A Great Day

Nolan asked for white cake with white icing. This
followed his supper request - Kraft Dinner.

Signs of the Zodiac or A Month of Bull

Well folks, it's that time of year again when we cross the line from Aries into Taurus. Around here, that's big. At times chaotic. A little expensive. Occasionally stubborn. Loaded with bull. Lots of candles. And always, always, full of good times, good friends, and great memories. And chocolate. Let's not forget the chocolate.

Up first - Nolie Bolie. Soon to be four years old. Lover of Spiderman, his sheep pockey (that would be his blankey), the Boston Bruins (drat), and mud. My baby...but don't tell him that because he's a big boy. Nolan.
