The Water's Fine

Do you remember this time last year? No? Well, take a look here. No doubt about it, last April was exceptional. Warm, warm, warm. Fast forward to 2011 and Environment Canada has predicted a cooler than normal spring. They definitely called that right. It may not be warm enough for swimsuits, but that's not gonna keep winter-weary kids and their dogs from playing in the water.

Snow's almost gone

Where's the ball?

Basking in the sun
Yep, life is good.

Aaaahh...Rosie's impression of a Curly Coated Retriever.

She reminds me of Willie, putting her head in the water and searching for the ball.

I hope that after his water adventures, he doesn't run right into the bedroom :)

Olga - we're starting to catch onto her (we're a little slow) so we now put a gate across the stairs so she can't go up

I tend to forget what the weather was like this time last year, but recently a friend reminded me that we had a particularly cold Spring last year and that this year it seems to be a much warmer Spring. So exactly opposite your weather.
And what does this say about Global Warming?

But it's good to see a muddy dog that is not in our garden ;-) This dog of yours is a successful addition to your family isn't she? Lovely!

Carolina - I don't usually remember from year to year, but last spring was so incredible that it's seared in my brain. As for Rosie, she's having a good time and is kinda goofy - a perfect fit.

Show a child (or dog) some water and it will play with it! No need for fancy roller coasters and such: just water!

Like you I remember last spring so vividly. Easter was early in april and the weather was amazing. T-shirts and out in the yard running around. This year just the opposite, we still have snow, the driveway is a mud pit and I still haven't given up my winter mitts!

Mara - you're absolutely right. Wish I'd thought of that before we moved to a swamp.

Marguerite - hang in there. Spring is coming.

Philip - ah, shucks. Thanks.
