I'd like to say that I ripped into it then and there, but I had kids to feed and things to do so the envelope stayed put awhile longer. But, once dinner, dishes and Riley's homework was complete (I am so good at word problems involving metric conversions! Go ahead; ask me anything.), I tore open the package.
Holy. I ordered a lot of stuff. I'm gonna have to watch that next time. Anyhoo, it's exciting! Now I just have to build a seven foot high fence around the garden to keep the damn deer out and we're rockin'.

Oh yeah!!! I was thinking of ordering from them this year - glad to know someone else who does :)
Note to self: you may be the last person in the Northern Hemisphere to get their seed order in, so go do it already!!
I laughed when I saw your lettuce. I picked the same kind this year and for much the same reason.
Wow! What a haul. Can't wait to hear how things go once they're in the ground!
Good luck with the deer.
Well I never knew there was a lettuce named after me!
K - I've ordered from them for a few years and have been to their plant sale a couple times and have never had any problems with their seeds or plants.
Marguerite - great minds think alike. I thought of you yesterday when I sorted through the mail and found the new Lee Valley catalogue!
Amber - I can't wait either! And I'm hoping that Rosie's scent will keep the deer away. We've gotta have our dreams.
Bub - ya! I was wondering if it was named for you. The grape vines I'm ordering are called 'Bub'. ;-)
Names are so important! As long as you don't have to be drunk to actually plant, harvest or eat the lettuce. Although...
This list of seeds looks very impressive. I start to imagine how it is going to grow and bloom.
Should we add Richters to our list of trips?
Mara - that's a good point. It's important to stay hydrated.
Olga - hopefully the deer, rabbits, raccoons, chickens and new doggie aren't imagining the same thing. ;-)
Dora - Richters. Yes, yes. I've been thinking about them too.
Oh wow! Love those names! LOVE!!!! Started my first vegetable garden last year and will continue the story this year, but with much duller names seeds. My garden is a lot smaller than yours, judging by the amount of stuff you'll be growing. Fun! Except for the slugs and snails who enjoy the homegrown veggies too ;-)
Carolina - they are great names, aren't they? Didn't have much to do with a veggie garden last year and I missed it. I'd love to hear what you grow.
It really does look like a lot of stuff when the actual packets arrive in the mail... and deer aside, when you actually have 800 squash in August it's really gonna look like a lot!
Jess - welcome! Good lord - 800 squash. I'll be inviting the deer in then.
