Fries and Snow

Ri's been working hard at school. (Math? Don't be silly.) The drama dept will be presenting Shakespeare's A Mid-Summer Night's Dream in March and rehearsals have moved from the mini-variety at recess to full-scale on Saturdays. Yesterday, Paul took her into town and dropped her off for her two-and-a-half hour gig and then did his running around. He even got a snazzy hair cut out of the deal. As she was finishing up there, the boys and I loaded into the truck and made the short trek to the ski hill for Cameron's lesson.

A Local Ski-bum
We waited for his instructor, Jesse, reminded Cammy not to have fun (and more importantly, not to smile) and then Nolie and I wandered into the chalet. Nolan pretty much had one thing on his mind - fries and gravy. We made a beeline to the cafeteria lineup, ordered lunch (I went for the egg salad on a pita and a hot chocolate) and found ourselves a sunny seat by the window to enjoy our meal.

Mmmm. Fries and gravy. Life is good.
After the lesson, we met Cammy, returned his rentals and rushed home. We had a busy afternoon ahead of us as we headed west to...

I'm with Nolan, you just can't beat fries and gravy sometimes.

Ooh, intrigue! Headed west to...???

I thought it was only in the north of England that people ate chips (as in fries, not crisps) and gravy! What on earth will I tease Philip about now?

my hubbys favourite - fries and gravy. Or as they eat it here in PEI "fries with the works" which is a goopy concoction of gravy, peas, fried onions and hamburger. Looks like your little guy sure was enjoying himself.

The poutine rocks!

Gravy? Good lord. It's like coming home. Curry Sauce? Mushy Peas?

Bub - I'm with Nolan too. The fries and gravy at the hill are really good.

Sharon - there's not a doubt in my mind that there's still lots of things to tease Philip about. Fries and gravy are, however, now off-limits. Yummy. (If you think fries and gravy are something to tease about, google 'poutine'.)

Marguerite - fries with the works sounds awfully good too. At the hill they have 'Furp and Bart Chili on a Bun'. Hee hee. I'm too easily amused.

Dorito - I almost went for the poutine but I'm waiting for you to come out and then I'll share...yours.

Philip - I can't believe you've been teased about fries and gravy. Haven't had it with curry sauce but that sounds good too. If the gravy isn't thick, I add ketchup too.

My mouth is watering again...

Fries with gravy? And here I was thinking the Brits were strange pouring vinegar over them! I might have to stick to mayonaise.

It is so true, having an animal in the house makes such a difference and she looks like the perfect girl!

You must be so chuffed that you have a really good excuse to visit that chalet very regularly ;-)

'Zaanse' mayonaise (mayonaise from Zaandam in the Netherlands) or mustard (tastes surprisingly good) with my fries please.

Mara - I'm pretty sure that you have to eat fries and gravy as part of the Citizenship test here.

Carolina - somehow I'm usually the one that takes the kids wherever they need to go. But I've noticed, that Paul has volunteered most weeks to go to the ski hill. Hmmmm...

I've heard of fries with mayo but not sure that I've tried it. Will put it on my list of things to do.
