But, as far as Waylon was concerned, the best gift was here when we got up this morning. Snow. Now, I'm not talking about the light fall-from-the-sky-and-melt-when-it-hits-the-ground stuff like we saw on Friday. No. I'm talking about the snow that sticks. The first real snow of the year. It wasn't much - only a few centimetres - but the ground and trees were white and the kids and I knew that ole Bubba (that's what we call Waylon) was going to be one happy dog.
After their breakfast today, I followed the puppies outside with the camera. Waylon had a pee, turned around, walked a few steps and sat down. He sniffed the fresh morning air. And then, as we figured he would, he dropped to the ground and made the first snow bubba of the season. I smiled. Pretty sure he did too.

On cable tv they have a
weather channel--24 hours
of weather.
We had something like that
when I was a kid-We called
it a window.
I like snow. It fills
all the potholes.
I have good news and
bad news.The bad news is
it"s going to drop to
zero tonight.
The good news is my air
conditioner is working
again.
I don"t mind sleet and
snow. I just wish it would
come in the summer when the
weather is nice.

Awww...cute doggie! The cold air does them wonders.
That's just beautiful. Really beautiful. I really hope we get some snow again this year. By far my favourite weather. Has the opposite effect on my cat Martin. He thinks we switch the weather on and off (he's a bit dim)and bears a grudge if it rains, and sulks for a couple of hours if the white stuff settles. Then we he can't wait any longer he takes a step, lifts his paw and shakes off the snow, puts it down lifts it up, shakes off the snow...... Has the quickest toilet visit in the nearest part of the garden and runs back in (Martin never runs unless he's wet or pursued).
Hey Dad - what animal goes OOM?

They're so much happier in the cooler weather. Then again, we didn't have any warmer weather this year.
Hi Philip - I've gotta say, I think it's funny that you have to hope for snow. By March, we're wishing it would go away.
Scratch that. I'm ready for it to go away in February.
