Have you ever been weeding your garden, come across a weed you don't recognize and leave it, just to see what it ends up becoming? I did that this year with a few weeds and ended up with Hollyhocks! I don't remember ever planting them, but, then again, I don't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday either. So, they're a mystery. A tall and welcome mystery.
Maybe it was the wee trollsfrom under the bridge who planted them?

They are pretty!
But what good are they? Let me tell you. They are a diuretic. Did I spell that right? And good to alleviate chest pains, but then again, if you are experiencing chest pains, better get to E.R.
I googled "Holly Hock" and it says that the first plant came to Canada from China.
Oh, the irony!
And another thing, if you took that picture of the echinacea, you did a fine job. It's a beautiful shot.
Well, it seems a have quite a medicine cabinet outside. And yes, yes I did take the picture of the coneflowers. I kinda thought I did okay too.
I thought of you coming home from the dentist this morning (Ri had her last baby tooth pulled...awww). Anyhoo, we came one of the backroads and there's lots of chicory blowing in the breeze. Next time you're here, bring a shovel and a pail.
Apparently our backyard is full of chickory.
I picked a bunch already. They have long roots so I didn't need much.
The dandelions are a pain to pick.
I'm looking forward to your coffee! You go first.
Those are coneflowers? Not Echinacea?
You mean I took the trouble to look up the word 'Echinacea' for nothing?
Same thing. Just my way's easier to spell.
Okay, I am NOT going to be reading those cups.
Oh, come on
