What A Difference A Day Makes

The last few days have seen wild swings in weather. But that's what you get in early spring, isn't it? (Sure wish someone had reminded me of that before I washed all the kids' winter clothes and put them away.) Friday we had buckets of rain - there's ponds where I've never seen ponds before. Saturday was wild with high winds and snow that, thankfully, didn't stick. Sunday dawned calm and warmer; a beautiful spring day. The kids spent hours outside playing and riding bikes. At one point when they wanted to come in, I quickly came up with a 'nature treasure hunt' and shooed them back out.

For lunch, Riley asked if they could have a pic
nic outside. We decided to turn the table upright on the back deck and set out the chairs and they had a fine luncheon out there, listening to the birds singing and the laundry gently flapping in the breeze. Oh, and they had sour cream and onion chips so it was all good.

Today was different again. I awoke to, gasp, a snow-covered landscape. And the white stuff was still coming down. Tonight the boys dragged out the GT Racer and took it down the hill a few times, stopping only to make snow angels. Waylon happily rolled on his back in the snow making snow Bubbas. I, however, am looking forward to another day like Sunday.

(And I don't want to hear any smart comments from you people in Oshawa who only saw rain today. You know who you are.)
